Black Stars Mgt C’ttee yet to receive provisional squad to face Nigeria – Alhaji Gruzah

Management Committee member of the Black Stars, Alhaji Karim Grusah has revealed that they’re yet to receive the squad for the World Cup playoff against Nigeria.

Per reports, the technical team of the Black Stars which is led by Otto Addo submitted their squad for the crucial games earlier this week. The reports added that a meeting was held on Thursday, March 10 by the Executive Committee of the Ghana FA to scrutinize the squad before official announcement.

However, Alhaji Grusah who’s a member of the Management Committee has debunked those reports, indicating that the Committee is to yet to receive the squad.

“We don’t do the call-up, it is the job of the technical team, and then submit it to us for review. What is circulating on Social Media (but) we have not received it yet. So next week will hold a meeting and see the way forward,” he told Accra Angel FM.

Despite denying that the squad has been submitted to the committee, Alhaji Grusah revealed that the technical team has successfully convinced some Ghanaian players who have previously turned down invitation to play for team.

“We have to thank God that Otto Addo and his men have successfully spoken to some players who had previously turned down our invitations. We just have to pray and support them,” he added.

Per reports, Dutch-born Willem II right back Leeroy Owusu, French-born Gent midfielder Elisha Owusu and British-born center-forward Antoine Semenyo will be in the squad.

Mohammed Salisu and Alfred Duncan who in the past turned down invitations to play for team have also reportedly agreed to be available for the playoff.

The games against the Super Eagles are scheduled for Friday, March 25 at the Cape Coast stadium and Tuesday, March 29 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
