The Black Satellites (U-20) will play three high profile friendly matches ahead of next month’s WAFU Zone B U-20 Cup of Nations to be played in Niamey, Niger.
Coach Karim Zito and his team have been preparing in Prampram and been involved in a series of friendly games as part of their preparations for the competition which serves as qualification for the TotalEnergies Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
The Black Satellites will test their strength against Division One Zone Three table toppers, Tema Youth on Tuesday, April 26, at the Accra Sports stadium before facing Academy side Euro Africa on Thursday, April 28 at the same venue.
The team will wrap up preparations for the tourney with another crunch tie against Division One Zone Three side Heart of Lions on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.
Ghana will go into the competition as defending champions having come from behind to beat Burkina Faso 2-1 at the Stade Charles De Gaulles in Porto Novo, Benin two years ago.
The Black Satellites have been pitted in Group B and will open their campaign against Nigeria at the Stade Général Seyni Kountché on Sunday, May 8, 2022.
Ghana will be exempted for the second group game and will play Burkina Faso in the final group game at the Stade Général Seyni Kountché on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
The competition will be played from Saturday, May 7 to Friday, May 20, 2022. Finalists will secure a place at the U-20 African Cup to be played in Egypt between February 18 to March, 12, 2023.
