Ghanaian forward Kevin-Prince Boateng is a doubt for Hertha Berlin clash against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.

Boateng has missed training this week because of injury problem and is likely to sit out of the Bundesliga match.

“Kevin-Prince Boateng hasn’t been able to train with the team this week due to muscular problems,” said coach Tayfun Korkut during Thursday’s press briefing.

Boateng returned to action last weekend in Hertha’s 4-1 defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt after being sidelined for two months.

The former AC Milan and Barcelona man lasted 61 minutes and had little impact on the game as Hertha were condemned to the relegation zone.

It was Boateng’s 12th league appearance since joining the club this summer. His return to his boyhood club has been blighted by injuries.

Before Saturday, he had been out of action for two months due to an initial suspension before contracting the coronavirus.

The 35-year-old has contributed little to the team with 15 appearances across all competitions and no goal or assist.

Hertha are likely not to hand him a new contract when the current one expires at the end of the season.
