PHOBIA will still flow in my veins…’ – Raddy Ovouka to Hearts of Oak fans as he heads to New Mexico United

Congo international Raddy Ovouka has expressed gratitude to Hearts of Oak fans for their support in an open letter as he prepares to swap the club for US side New Mexico United.

Ovouka left the Phobians to join the United Soccer League (USL) Championship outfit New Mexico United on loan with an option to extend.

Ovouka – who was a cult hero at Hearts of Oak prior to his departure – took to social media to express his profound gratitude to the Accra-based giants.

“To the management, my lovely club ACCRA HEARTS OF OAK and the entire Phobia family.”

“I’m so grateful for everything you have done for me, my journey wouldn’t have been possible without your love and support(teammates, staff, the fans and love ones).”

“As I am embarking on another challenge in my career in New Mexico United (🇱🇷), the love and care you all have shown me will never be forgotten.”

“As part member of the GREAT OAK FAMILY, It is my dream to visit you in the future. PHOBIA will still flow in my veins like blood and the NEVER SAY DIE spirit will still live within me.”

During the 2020/2021 campaign, he played in 29 matches, and scored Hearts of Oak’s eighth penalty in the shootout to lift the Ghanaian FA Cup, completing the domestic double on the year.

Ovouka has also represented the Republic of Congo in international competition four times – twice in World Cup Qualifying, and twice in qualifying matches for the African Cup of Nations – starting three of those matches.

In his young career, Ovouka has played in 60 domestic league matches, starting 47.

He has also seen action in the CAF Champions League three times with the Phobians, starting two matches.
